How to clean a Keurig coffee maker with a venigar

Cleaning the Keurig coffee maker and descaling is an important step to enjoying the most delicious coffee and keeping it in good shape for years to come. This largely depends on how often you use your brewer, and on the state of the local water. Maybe you can try doing this four or six times a year.

Step by step

How to clean coffee maker without venigarOpen the top of the coffee maker and remove the cake cup holder. Be careful – there are two sharp needles here. If desired, the cup holder can be washed in the dishwasher. Otherwise, it is usually good to rinse with warm running water.
There is a sharp needle here, so be careful to flip the cup holder over and make sure that there are no obstacles in these holes at the bottom. The drip tray is removable. Wash it thoroughly by hand or in the dishwasher. There is also a needle in the top of the cake cup holder. This needle has three holes – a straightened paper clip is inserted into each hole to remove any growths or obstacles.
Apply a little force, push this paper clip a good inch inside, and wiggle vigorously. Repeat the same for the two other holes in the needle.
Use a damp, soft cloth to wipe away coffee crumbs or water stains in and around the cup holder area, as well as on the front of the coffee maker. Be careful with the needle inside. When you wipe it off, return the k-cup holder back to the camera. Make sure that this is the correct path by aligning the arrows at the top of the holder.
Drain the water from the external tank of the coffee maker. Fill this tank again with wavy white vinegar and replace it at the brewery. Perform four cycles of brewing large cups.
Don’t use the k-cup, just run it empty. Get rid of the hot vinegar. After each time, the vinegar is pushed through the internal heating tank, as well as through all the valves inside.
Leave the brewer on for four hours. This gives the vinegar time to get rid of any deposits in the pipes and valves inside the brewery.
With water, run cycles with only large cups until the added water appears on the brewer’s screen. This will allow you to wash all traces of vinegar from the inside of the system. If you notice a vinegary smell or taste of water coming out of your brewery, fill the water tank again and run the hot water cycle until it changes.
Great, your Keurig brewery is now clean, and you’re ready to enjoy full cups of delicious coffee for months to come.
